Today’s Jones Falls Mills were originally known as the Mt. Vernon Mill. They were built between 1845 and 1918 by the Mount Vernon Company to keep up with demand for their popular and reliable cotton duck fabric. The complex and company grew as requests rolled in for cotton duck sails, uniforms, tents, and army parachutes. In fact, the Mount Vernon Company was the world’s largest producer of cotton duck fabric in world by the second half of the 19th century.

Today, our historic mill venues offer a serene waterfront setting for your next event. Filled with industrial charm and natural light, our spaces are the perfect place to celebrate life's greatest milestones.

Whitehall Mill has worn many hats, including that of a flour mill, a textile mill, a paper company, and most recently, it housed a large distribution center for Penguin Books. Since then, the space has been intentionally restored and redesigned with private events in mind.

The aptly named Penguin Room hosts all types of celebrations – from corporate gatherings to weddings, birthday parties and showers, we welcome events of up to 200 guests in our historic venue.

"An absolute hidden gem in Baltimore, for the most beautiful wedding venue. Together, Heron Room (Venue) and Cosima (Caterer) coordinated a breathtaking event for our wedding at Mill No. 1. If industrial Chic is your vibe, the legacy brick and style shines masterfully."

"Between the cobblestoned courtyard and hearing the Jones Falls running below, the combination of historic industrial buildings against nature and greenery (the views and photo ops from the bridge are a must!), this wedding venue is absolutely a hidden gem we're lucky to have in Baltimore! Outdoor ceremonies in the courtyard are simply magical."

Ariana Rizzo, 2022

"The vibe for our wedding was so important to us, the Heron Room captured everything we wanted and more! The views, the feel, it just has it all. The entire team was amazing to work with and we couldn't have asked for a more prefect day!"
